TRACKS & TRAILS IN KILKENNY

Tracks & Trails” is back for its 11th season, exploring the natural beauty of Ireland through six episodes covering seven counties. The fifth episode features Dr. Ruth Freeman guiding viewers through County Kilkenny’s less-traveled paths, starting from the historic Kilkenny City.

The episode highlights two walks: a 10km journey along the River Nore, starting from Kilkenny Castle and leading into the countryside, and a more extensive trek from Graiguenamanagh through country roads, hillsides, and forests, culminating at Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum.

Along the way, Dr. Freeman engages with local experts and landowners, delving into the area’s history and ecology. The episode showcases the scenic South Leinster Way and the meticulously restored Woodstock Gardens, reflecting the 19th-century period. This personal and engaging episode airs on RTÉ One at 7:30 pm on Friday, 3rd May, and is available for catch-up on the RTÉ Player.
