State Street Opens New Office Building in Kilkenny

Financial services giant State Street Corporation has officially opened its new office building in the heart of Kilkenny. The grand inauguration took place on March 25, 2024, and marked a significant milestone for both State Street and the local community.

A Growing Presence in Kilkenny

State Street, a leading provider of financial services to institutional investors, has been operating in Ireland since 1996. Over the past two decades, it has become one of the largest international financial services employers in the country. With a strong presence in Kilkenny for more than 20 years, State Street was the first company in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) to establish a regional base outside of Dublin.

The new office building, strategically located at the city’s IDA Ireland Business and Technology Park, reflects State Street’s commitment to Ireland and its confidence in the exceptional talent pool of the South-East region. The company’s growth trajectory aligns with the region’s prosperity, thanks to government policies and unwavering support from the IDA.

The official opening ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including:

  • Minister for Finance Michael McGrath: Minister McGrath acknowledged State Street’s vital role in developing the international financial services sector in the South-East region. He praised the links the company has forged with third-level institutions.
  • US Ambassador to Ireland Claire Cronin: Ambassador Cronin celebrated the collaboration between State Street and the local community, emphasizing the importance of cybersecurity in today’s interconnected world.

A Bright Future Ahead

As State Street settles into its new Kilkenny home, the company looks forward to continued success, growth, and collaboration. The global cybersecurity center will play a pivotal role in safeguarding State Street’s operations and contributing to the region’s prosperity.
