Affordable Housing Scheme

Exciting news for homebuyers in Kilkenny City! Kilkenny County Council has launched an Affordable Home Purchase Scheme, offering a total of 45 new A-rated 3-bedroom homes. This initiative is a collaboration with esteemed developers Cairn and Glenveagh Homes Ltd., supported by the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage.

Nyne Park, Callan Road: Discover the Cairn development’s 35 homes, with some ready for immediate move-in and others scheduled for completion throughout the year.

Cluain Glasan, Granges Road: The Glenveagh development presents 10 homes, all set for occupancy.

These homes are primarily aimed at first-time buyers, with certain exceptions. The scheme is designed to help bridge the financial gap between buyers’ resources, mortgage capabilities, and the cost of a new home. This is made possible through the Affordable Housing Fund, which offers a subsidy to local authorities, reducing development costs and thus, sale prices.

Under this scheme, Kilkenny County Council will hold an equity share in the property, which buyers can choose to buy out over time. The equity share is tailored to each applicant, based on income, savings, and mortgage capacity.

To apply, visit the council’s website and access the dedicated online application portal. Each development has specific information and its own application portal, ensuring a smooth and informed process for prospective homeowners.

Don’t miss this opportunity to own a piece of Kilkenny City at an affordable price. For more details and to apply, follow the links provided on the council’s website.
